Mckinleyville Animal Care Center
Rooted in Community, Driven by Compassion
At McKinleyville Animal Care Center, our commitment to animals extends far beyond the walls of our hospital. We believe that supporting the well-being of pets also means supporting the community that cares for them.

We are proud to work closely with the Humboldt County Animal Shelter, where we are contracted to provide veterinary care for shelter animals in need. Through the shelter’s Emergency Medical Fund, we help ensure that injured or ill animals receive critical treatment and a chance at a healthier future.

Our hospital also collaborates with local rescue organizations, including Humboldt County Animal Control, Redwood Pals Rescue, and Friend for life rescue helping provide medical care for rescued pets as they recover and find loving homes.

Beyond animal welfare, we are proud members of the Mckinleyville Chamber of Commerce, supporting initiatives that strengthen and enrich our local community. We also believe in investing in the next generation and are honored to contribute to local children’s sports programs, helping support youth activities that bring families together.

Through these partnerships and contributions, we strive to make a meaningful difference for both the animals and the people who call Humboldt County home.

Our Story
Nestled along the beautiful North Coast of California among the redwoods, McKinleyville Animal Care Center is proud to be a locally owned, non-corporate veterinary hospital dedicated to the pets and people of our community.

We are a female-owned, muti-doctor small animal practice that believes exceptional veterinary medicine starts with a strong and supported team. Our hospital has long been a trusted pillar of the local pet-owning community, providing comprehensive wellness, medical, and surgical care for our patients.

What truly defines our practice is our people. Our staff is loyal, knowledgeable, diverse, and fun-loving, and we strongly believe that a healthy work-life balance allows our team to provide the compassionate, thoughtful care every patient deserves. By creating a positive and supportive environment for our staff, we ensure that every pet and family who walks through our doors feels welcomed and cared for.

At McKinleyville Animal Care Center, veterinary medicine is more than a profession—it is a commitment to the animals, families, and community we are honored to serve.

Redwood Pals Rescue works closely with unhoused community members, helping ensure their beloved pets receive essential veterinary care, supplies, and support. Their efforts include helping pets receive spay and neuter services, improving the long-term health of animals while helping reduce unwanted litters and pet overpopulation in our community.

In addition to their outreach work, Redwood Pals Rescue also generously volunteers time at the Humboldt County Animal Shelter, supporting the care and wellbeing of shelter animals while helping them on their path toward adoption and loving homes.

By recognizing the powerful bond between people and their animals, Redwood Pals Rescue helps keep pets healthy while also supporting the wellbeing and dignity of their owners.
